The short answer

For an easy beach day without a car, start at Playa de la Fontanilla or Playa de Venus near central Marbella. For a longer coastal walk, explore the Golden Mile. For dunes and a more natural setting, look towards Cabopino and Artola in the east. Conditions and services change by season: check locally before you go.

Marbella Centre

Venus · Fontanilla · La Bajadilla

A convenient starting point if you're staying near the Old Town. The promenade connects beaches, cafés and the town centre on foot.

Golden Mile

Nagüeles · Puente Romano

A seafront walk west of central Marbella, with beach access alongside hotels and restaurants. Check individual access points before setting out.

Puerto Banús & west

Nueva Andalucía · San Pedro

Combine a beach visit with a longer walk towards San Pedro. The feel varies between the marina area and the quieter stretches farther west.

Marbella East

Elviria · Real de Zaragoza · Cabopino

Explore beyond the centre for a different coastal landscape. The Artola dunes by Cabopino are protected: stay on marked paths.

Before you go

01 / Access

Public beach access and paid beach-club services are different things. Check the exact entrance, especially around resorts.

02 / Conditions

Wind, waves and lifeguard coverage vary by beach and season. Follow beach flags and local notices on the day.

03 / Facilities

Showers, accessible routes, parking and rentals aren't identical at every beach. Confirm what you need before travelling.

Which Marbella beach is easiest to reach on foot?

If you're staying in the centre, Playa de Venus and Playa de la Fontanilla are useful starting points along the seafront promenade. Check the walking route from your accommodation.

Are Marbella's beaches free to use?

Public beach access is distinct from paid loungers, beach clubs and other services. Check current terms with a venue before booking any extras.

Where can I find a more natural coastal setting?

Look towards the protected Artola dunes near Cabopino. Use marked access paths and check local guidance before visiting.
