As of 22 October 2026, we have not verified the municipal lights switch-on, Christmas market schedule or Three Kings parade programme. No previous-year date, ticket price or light display has been carried forward as confirmed. What is confirmed and what is still pending

ItemStatus on 22 October 2026What to do
Municipal Christmas lights switch-onDate and programme not verifiedCheck a current municipal announcement before planning around it
Christmas markets2026 locations, dates and hours not verifiedDo not assume last year's market returns
Three Kings parade2027 route and time not verifiedEpiphany is a holiday, not confirmation of a parade programme

Ralli museumClosed 22 December–31 JanuaryDo not schedule a Christmas-week or January visit

The municipal tourism agenda is a place to recheck announcements, not evidence that an unannounced programme is already confirmed. The December guide separates the announced Palacio activity from festive details still awaiting verification.

Holiday dates are not event dates

Andalucía's 2026 calendar names Monday 7 December as the substitute Constitution holiday, Tuesday 8 December as Immaculate Conception and Friday 25 December as Christmas Day. The 2027 calendar confirms Friday 1 January and Wednesday 6 January as New Year's Day and Epiphany. Christmas Eve on 24 December and New Year's Eve on 31 December are dates for possible private arrangements, not a verified municipal entertainment programme in this guide.

A public holiday does not establish that every business closes or opens. Restaurants, shops, attractions and buses may have individual arrangements. Check the local bus operator and the exact venue. Arrange your arrival meal and return transport before relying on an evening event.

How to book an organised festive dinner

Ask for the current 2026/27 offer in writing. Confirm the date, seating time, menu and dietary options; whether the price is per person; children's policy; included drinks; entertainment; deposit; cancellation deadline; and any late-night transport arrangements. A normal restaurant menu is not a Christmas dinner package. We have not verified a specific festive menu, package price or guaranteed table here.

Choose a restaurant you can reach comfortably from your hotel. An indoor table is a safer fixed commitment than a terrace when the weather is uncertain. Our Marbella paella shortlist provides official restaurant contacts for ordinary rice meals; confirm separate festive service directly.

What to do between bookings

In dry daylight, explore the Old Town, Plaza de los Naranjos and a manageable promenade section. For rain, use a reserved indoor meal, café, shops with confirmed holiday opening or a gallery appointment. Do not substitute an assumed museum opening for an unverified festive event.

Ralli's venue website closes access from 22 December through 31 January. Although tourism lists Habitar Raíces through 27 December, this exhibition end date cannot make the museum open during its stated closure. Before 22 December, posted access is Tuesday–Friday 10:00–17:00 and Saturday 10:00–15:00, free; Sunday and Monday are closed. Use venue hours over a conflicting agenda field.

A practical Christmas-to-January stay

Pick accommodation with heating and nearby meals. Ask about any advertised pool's winter operation rather than assuming a warm-water facility. Pack layers, waterproof outerwear and comfortable closed shoes. Historic Málaga Airport December and January normals are regional climate context, not a guarantee of Marbella sunshine; use the forecast for your dates.

The January 2027 guide is useful even without a confirmed tourism calendar. For the broader seasonal decision, read Marbella in winter. Keep one flexible outdoor outing per day and leave space for weather and opening-hour changes.
